Love isn’t a state of perfect caring. It is an active noun, like “struggle.” To love someone is to strive to accept that person, exactly as he or she is, right here and now. — Mister Fred Rogers

Dear fellow BVs,
Recently I got an email with that very subject line—"Hello I love you"— from a newsletter I subscribe to called The Hustle. Even though I knew it was just a marketing ploy, it still felt good to read the words, so I decided to use the same subject for my own newsletter. Reading that line made me happy, even though it was from a group newsletter. Did it do the same for you here?

It’s also a subject line inspired by one of my greatest heroes,  Fred Rogers.  Mister Rogers spent so much of his life on camera, telling children that they were loveable and unique. He didn’t know each and every child he was speaking to personally (of course), but he had a deep belief that every child deserved the chance to feel special and be loved
In the same way, I deeply believe that every beautiful voyager out there—all of us perfectionists, people pleasers, and stressed-out seekers—also deserve to feel comforted, relaxed, and loved.
Running the Beautiful Voyager is an odd pastime. I collect and share photos, videos, and writing with the sole purpose of creating comfort in the world?
But then I boil it down: “I share what makes me feel good.” Ah, that’s clearer. See? The journey is to find what feels right.
Let me know if this subject line worked by replying to this email. Or share something that inspired or relaxed you on Slack, Facebook, or our forums.
Love, Lady Elaine Fairchilde (aka Meredith)
