“My theory about creativity is the more money one has, the more creative one can be.” – Robert Mapplethorpe

Good morning fellow BVs,
This morning I published a new guide on Beautiful Voyager. The piece was written by Rachel Gearinger, a writer with her Master of Public Health degree who spent 2 years as the Helpline Coordinator at NAMI, the National Alliance of Mental Illness in Ohio. In the piece, Rachel digs into how parents can tell if their children are in the 31% of kids with an anxiety disorder.
How to Know If Your Child Is Dealing with Anxiety How to Know If Your Child Is Dealing with Anxiety
It’s one of many topics I’ve longed to pay someone to write about. Since longer, well-researched stories for the Beautiful Voyager take money, I’ve had to save up to be able to afford it.
Whenever I earn enough money from site sales and donations, I carefully consider which topic to commission a writer to cover. In this case, I paid Rachel $200 to write this guide, having waited to cover this topic for over a year.
I’m telling you this not to get you to donate to the site (though I welcome that), but to let you know that I am listening. My resources are limited, so I need to be smarter. I need to actually serve your needs.
May I ask you a question or four?
What are the topics you want me to commission writers to cover? What do you care about most when it comes to mental health and anxiety? Is there a topic you’ve googled without success? Parents, do you think this story will help you navigate the confusing world of mental health and kids?
Write me back and let me know. I’m listening.
Love, Meredith
